The Willows Cretingham
is a 200 hundred year old cottage where A James Baldry are
assisting owners Susan and Peter Massey in a progressive kitchen refurbishment.
The kitchen layout is constrained by the Aga and as there is little wall
space wall mounted cupboards are not really an option. The new
kitchen units have been made in tulip wood, a surprisingly
light (in both colour and weight) hardwood popular with boat builders.
Doors and cupboards have "crazed" porcelain knobs and the units will be
completed by composite granite work surfaces and the owners applying
their own finishing oil.

Work begun with a base being made for the spectacular
butchers' block Susan and Peter had
acquired. Jim Baldry will level the block and fix a crack in it.
Further work has included
this useful drawer suggest by Jim that
fills an awkward space at the side of the Pog gas cooker used in the
summer.
The owners are retaining the kitchen furniture on the opposite wall
though they will change the finish, possibly painted, and Jim will
consult and create a solution to this
overcrowded cupboard. |
